Magnificent Hollywood sand sculptures

On the annual Weston Sand Sculpture Festival for year 2013, Hollywood was the main theme, so all the sculptures made of sand were for Hollywood popular characters, such as Gollum, King Kong, Batman, Alfred Hitchcock, E.T, The God Father, Jack Sparrow “Pirates of the Caribbean”, Yoda, Marilyn Monroe, Star Wars characters, Harry Potter and so much more sculptures for popular Hollywood character.

All of these wonderful sand sculptures have been created by 20 awards winning professional sculptors from around the world, they all gathered on the “Weston-Super-Mare” beach in England; this beach is the most crowded beach with celebrities on the Bristol Channel Coast.

Transformers Fan Builds His Own Army of Robots !

All geeks love Transformers, but Yang Junlin of Huizhou, China, took his passion for the franchise to a whole other level when he opened the “Legend of Iron” factory and began producing his own robots.Check out :

Remebre that uber-cool Megatron Tank we featured a few weeks back? That was one of Yang Junlin’s iron masterpieces, but I had no idea he had created hundreds of other incredible metal sculptures. In 2006, after retiring from the army, Yang went to a concert where various steel sculptures were placed on display. Some of them were simple human figures created from twisted metal wire, but they made such an impression on him, that he decided to try and make his own steel works.

A year later, Yang Junlin opened his own factory, Legend of Iron, and hired over 10 workers to help him realize his dream of building cool robot sculptures. They use all kinds of scrap metal, from old car parts to simple sheets of steel andcreate some of the most amazing looking Transformers replicas I’ve ever seen. Although he admits his work is quite time-consuming, Yang has built over 1,000 iron sculptures since he opened Legend of Iron, five years ago, and isn’t planning on stopping anytime soon.

Japanese Artist Uses Toothpicks and a Spoon to Create Amazing Banana Sculptures

Keisuke Yamada is a self-taught Japanese artist who takes plain bananas and turns them into edible masterpieces. Using only a spoon and toothpicks the talented food artist works against the clock, trying to finish his pieces before the fruit begins to oxidize.

Sculpting bananas is not easy. The fragile texture of the fruit and the fact that you can’t add more material to cover up a mistake like you would with clay makes it a very difficult material to work with. And that’s exactly what makes 26-year-old Keisuke Yamada’s art so special.

It all began little over two ears ago when he peeled a banana and thought it would be interesting to carve something into it. His first creation was a simple smiling face, but he received such a positive reaction from art fans that he felt inspired to pursue the idea further. Using only a spoon to prime the banana by smoothing its surface and toothpicks for carving its flesh, Keisuke created an entire series of banana sculptures that won him international acclaim after the photos he uploaded to Japanese art site, Pixiv, went viral.

In his interviews with some of the largest sites in the world, Yamada revealed he works as an electrician by day, and becomes an expert banana carver during the night. He described the artistic process as a race against time, trying to finish his creations in less than 30 minutes after the peeled banana has been exposed to air. Taking too long causes the fruit to turn brown ruining the whole piece. Once he’s finished, he quickly takes a photo after which he eats the banana.

Awesome Pencil Sculptures by Dalton

For most of us pencil is just a tool used for painting, drawing, or updating checkbooks. But in the hands of Dalton, a Brazilian-born artist who lives in Bridgeport, these ordinary pencils turn into miniature sculptures.

He carves sculptures out of the tips of pencils using sewing needle and razor blade. Apart from these he needs very bright light, and there is no use of a magnifying glass in creation of these artistic works. Each of these sculptures takes months to years to complete as he works for about an hour and a half a day.
It took Dalton about two and half years to complete his best-known work, "Alphabet" a set of 26 pencils with each letter of the alphabet carved into the tip of the graphite
