World’s smallest Chevrolet 327 V8 engine

When this Chevy V8 engine was introduced back in 1962 it was the most powerful production small-block V8 untill LS6 came in 2001. 327 cubic engine was single-cam, natural aspirated. One of the petrolheads, Jim Moyer, expressed his respect to this engine by building its miniature -- the 1/6th scale model that actually works. Jim spend a lot of time fabricating all the parts -- block, head, crank, pistons, cam and others. The mini engine has spark ignition, oil system that are exactly like the ones from 327 muscle.
Even though it works quite well, this Chevrolet V8 mini engine still need improvements in order to run it longer: water-pump, carburetor, valve caps.

1400 HP 10.4 liter twin-turbo V8 from Nelson Racing Engines

The SEMA show has brought us an infinity of custom goodies and some of these are more special than others. We’re here to zoom in on a creation that can literally move mountains: a powerplant that comes from Nelson Racing Engines.
We are talking about a V8 unit with a displacement of 10.4 liters, which uses a twin-turbo setup to deliver 1,420 hp and 1,400 lb-ft (1,896 Nm) of torque... on pump gas. Curious to see what happens when you fill the tank with race juice?

The output explodes to 2,332 hp and 2,100 lb-ft (2,844 Nm), a value that requires a rock-solid transmission.

The monstrous powerplant can be yours for $52,000 (EUR32,200 at the current exchange rates). In case you’re wandering is this is one of those projects that only sounds good on paper, we have to tell you that the company has a strong reputation for building monsters like this.

Building The Engine For a Special COPO Camaro – Video

Back in October Chevrolet made a very special COPO Camaro Convertible model to be auctioned off to benefit the American Heart Association. This being a special project, GM sent Jim Campbell, vice president of Performance Vehicles and Motorsports, down to the assembly line to personally put the engine for this car together.
Assembling a 550 hp 327 V8 with a 4.0 liter supercharger looks like great fun to us, especially when it serves a good cause.
