5 Awesome & Crazy Bike Mods (Photo Gallery)

Most people have seen tandem (two-seater) bikes, penny farthing (old-timey) bikes, and even tall bikes (exactly what they sound like), but these crazy bike mods make those tried-and-true models look downright boring.

1 The Dino Trike

Who wants to wrangle a dinosaur without having to head to Jurassic Park? Check out this awesome T-Rex trike that was recently for sale on Craigslist. The rider can even make the old bag of bones open her mouth and turn her head.  (Source)

2 Bison Bike

Whether you love the bison of the American West, or you just miss the shag carpeting of the '70s, we're pretty sure you'll love this bison bike spotted in Copenhagen. I sure hope they keep it out of the rain, or it might just start smelling like a real bison.(Source)

Camper Bike

Plenty of people bike through the wilderness and camp out in tents. However, full-size camping trailers have been reserved for those using automobiles. Artist Kevin Cyr's camper bike finally gives cyclists the freedom to travel with a proper bed, kitchen, and entertainment center.(Source)

4 Game Controller Handlebars

Looking for a way to get gamers outside? Try making a bike with a controller in place of the handlebars. Sure, the buttons won't do anything, but maybe just having something familiar in their hands will be enough to keep people off the console and in the sunshine.  (Source)

Shoe Cycle

This crazy bike uses a series of shoes attached to sturdy spokes to simulate walking without ever putting your feet on the ground. This clever creation also appeared at a Tour de Fat bike festival in San Francisco in 2008.(Source)

1074 hp Audi S3 by TS Racing

We knew that Audi’s, or rather Volkswagen’s, 2.5 liter five-cylinder engine has a great potential for tuning, but we didn’t know how big that potential was until we came across this. What we have here is an innocuous looking Audi S3 modified for racing by a firm called TS Racing, and it has a whopping 1074 HP (790 kW) and 1158 Nm (853 lb-ft) of torque!
Only God and a couple of his close companions know how in the world this little hatchback puts that massive power down to the ground, but it does. Actually, the more pressing question is how the hell did they manage to extract 1074 hp out of a 2.5 liter engine?

TS Racing’s Audi S3 is an amazing engineering achievement. The car also has a massive aero kit and other racing bits and bobs that are interesting, but the engine just dominates everything.

BMW M6 F13 by Risden Engineering

BMW M6 tends to be more of a super GT than a sports car, but it is an M car after all, and has the potential to become a serious track car. Risden Engineering sees this potential and is working on a program that turns the M6 into what they refer to as a ‘streetable track car’.
The idea is that the car remains properly docile for street use, and when you take it to the race track all that racing components added to it will result in greater performance. And there is quite a bit of racing bits and bobs fitted to this car.

The Risden R6 package includes a fixed wing and a retractable wing, and also built in cooling features and new vent openings for the brakes and engine. The M6 has also been on a diet and has lost a couple of stones. A fully adjustable suspension, 4 point roll bar, and a new brake system have also been added, but there is no plan for any performance upgrade. That is fine, of course, as the standard car comes with 560 horsepower.
