2015 Ford Mustang RTR Revealed—Yes, It Looks Awesome

Pro drifter Vaughn Gittin, Jr. is finally ready to drop his racy new Mustang RTR. The car debuts at SEMA and will be available via select Ford dealers, and it looks the business. Frankly, the 2015 Mustang’s biggest issue is that, if anything, it doesn’t look mean enough. Problem solved! The RTR gets new spoilers, splitters, a pretty wicked-looking diffuser, new grilles—with illumination in the upper one, making up for the sadly departed driving lamps—and the best-looking wheels I’ve seen for that car, period.

All the appearance stuff is for the Spec 1 cars, which leave out performance mods. The Spec 2 adds an RTR-specific tune, Magnaflows (again, RTR-specific), a revised suspension, a cold-air kit, and an optional blower. Also making its way to SEMA, but not yet revealed, is an even more extreme RTR Spec 5 concept, which takes the formula even further. Stay tuned.

1965 Shelby Mustang GT350

As if the production Mustang wasn't hot enough, legendary Texas tuner Carroll Shelby collaborated with Ford in 1965 on these special GT350 models. These were basically street-legal versions of Shelby's GT350R race car, powered by Ford's 289 Hi-Po small-block. The legend grew the following year when rental company Hertz snapped up some Shelbys as part of their "Rent-a-Racer" program. Some were apparently returned with their high-power engines myseriously swapped out. Huh.

2010 Saleen 435S Ford Mustang GT

Despite a lawsuit between Steve Saleen and Saleen Performance Vehicles, the new 2010 Saleen 435S Ford Mustang GT will have a variety of new performance parts. Right now there is a pending lawsuit between Steve Saleen and MJ Acquisitions, who now own Saleen Performance Vehicles, in which Steve Saleen does not want his name used anymore for future vehicles.
However, until the lawsuit is settled MJ Acquisitions is allowed to release as many Saleen branded models as they’d like. So this week at a Mustang enthusiasts event in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, they launched the new 435S Mustang based off the Ford Mustang GT. The redesigned Mustang comes fitted with a Saleen Series VI supercharger that outputs 435 hp and 425 ft-lbs of torque from the well sized 4.6-liter V8.
Another difference from the stock model 2010 Ford Mustang GT, is the 435S model has been lowered 1.5 inches with an aftermarket Racecraft suspension kit. The exterior includes custom 18 inch alloy wheels wrapped in performance tires, and features the unique Saleen badges and chevrons all around the vehicle. Inside the car, Saleen installed a short-throw performance shifter for the five-speed manual transmission. The company plans to manufacture a more powerful version that should be released at SEMA later this year, and sales for the Saleen 435S Ford Mustang should start in the spring of 2010.

Truly one-of-a-kind, this 1967 Ford Mustang Pro Touring Fastback has been hand-built from the ground up and is a multi-award winner! What’s more, this muscle car is AUTOGRAPHED by CARROLL SHELBY himself on the dash!! What a masterpiece! Mustang Shelby

The Shelby Mustang is a high performance variant of the Ford Mustang which was built by Shelby American from 1965 through 1970. Following the introduction of the fifth generation Ford Mustang, the Shelby nameplate was revived in 2007 for new high performance versions of the Mustang.

Ford Mustang Premium

This project was developed on a Premium Mustang version and won’t stand out with a lot of innovations but it’s surely an attractive car.The car received 20″ rims, KW suspension system and it was also lowered to the ground to gain in handling and stability. The 4.6L engine received an upgrade to the engine cooling unit and a KN sport air filter to receive a small power boost. The elements that were inserted in the car’s interior won’t change the initial shape of this Mustang and the audio system from the trunk has a lot of watt power for everyone.

2013 Mustang Switchback by Ringbrothers

It is nice to have so many aftermarket parts for Mustang. The well known Ringbrothers company offers the 2013 Switchback package for ponies.
Most updates are under the hood where the standard 5.0 liter engine is fitted with ProCharger supercharger that includes intercooler, Flowmaster headers and Hose Candy sleeves. Flowmaster 409S dual exhaust helps all these technical updates to  get 575 horses comparing to original 430 ones.

You need more aggressive looks to match those extra ponies, right? Ringbrothers installed very very nice carbon body kit with front splitter, 2-piece modular carboon hood, aluminum side vents. The body was painted in an awesome waterborne color. 19-inch wheels front, and 20s at the back are wrapped in Nitto tires. The weight save programed involved removing rear seats. Those were replaced by news custom leather package.

The 5.0 V-8 is back, and it’s better than ever with an all-new engine that uses twin independent variable camshaft timing to deliver an amazing 412 horsepower and 26 mpg. The advertising campaign for the new 2011 Mustang GT 5.0 will showcase that prowess in three print ads featuring the tagline: All Legend. No Compromise.
“Hard-core Mustang fans have been waiting for the new 5.0 engine, so we will be advertising in a variety of enthusiast magazines, such as MOTOR TREND, CAR and DRIVER and Popular Mechanics,” said Piedrahita. “And we will continue to have a strong presence at many enthusiast events, including NASCAR, NHRA, Formula Drift, Barrett-Jackson and various club events.”

In addition to print media, the new 5.0 will be featured prominently in digital advertising on enthusiast sites. The 5.0-liter engine also will continue to be highlighted in the Mustang Boss 302R running in the Grand-Am Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge race series.

Custom 2011 Ford Mustang 5.0 and V-6 go on the road with the DUB tour
Two hot custom Mustangs will go on the road with the DUB Magazine tour, which travels to various cities across the country through November.

The 2011 Ford Mustang 5.0 that DUB Magazine tricked out for Grammy Award-winning artist Nelly will be on display at the show. The vehicle features a glossy black exterior paint job, flat black racing stripes, and 22-inch Pirelli tires in the front and 24-inch tires at the rear. Also part of the tour will be the 2011 DUB Edition Ford Mustang V-6, which Ford will begin producing in August 2010.

“The Mustang is such an iconic muscle car and has always been a customizer’s favorite,” said Myles Kovacs, co-founder and president of DUB Magazine. “The DUB Edition Mustang stays true to its roots, but I think we’ve successfully brought a ton of hustle to the muscle.”

Gran Turismo Awards crowns Best of Show from SEMA, will include in game

Part of the blinged-out pomp and circumstance that surrounds SEMA is the presentation of the Gran Turismo Awards, which recognizes best car design and innovations in six categories, as well as an overall Best in Show. This year's winner was David Eckert and his 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 40, which also won the award for Best Hot Rod.
Other winners included the Toyota DragQuoia for Best Truck/SUV, the 2013 Ford Mustang RTR for Best Domestic Car, the Scion Evasive FR-S for Best Asian Import and the 500-horsepower VWVortex Super Beetle won for best European Import.

But it was the Mach 40 that apparently captured the interest of judges, which included Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi. David Eckert's team created a clever combination of Mustang Mach 1 styling and massive power, using the powertrain from the Ford GT. That means this 'Stang was fitted with a mid-mounted supercharged 5.4-liter V8, producing 600 to 850 horsepower, modulated using an "adjustable horsepower dial." Interestingly, the custom project rides on a C6 Corvette suspension.

The notoriety of the Mach 40 will last well after this year's show, as the car is being included in the Gran Turismo franchise, and will be seen by the millions that play the popular driving simulator. You may never get to drive the Mach 40, but now you may know what driving this car feels like in virtual reality, which for the David Eckert's team, must feel pretty darn cool.
